Before you begin

DragStat users – you can purchase a subscription to the Time Slip Simulator (TSS), which integrates directly with your electronic logbook.

With a button push, you can transfer run details from DragStat into the Time Slip Simulator and analyze your runs.

To purchase a subscription, please visit DragStat and return to this page when you’re ready to install the TSS and get started.

Download and install

First, you need to download the TSS installation package to your computer. Follow the instructions provided by DragStat.

Once downloaded to your computer, install the TSS by double-clicking on the installation package. Follow the prompts, and the TSS will be installed on your computer.

If you see a warning message when you run the installer that says “Windows protected your PC”, click the “more info” link and press the “Run Anyway” button.

This is just your computer being overly protective when installing an application you downloaded online.

Product activation

Once installed, you next need to activate the Time Slip Simulator. To do this, open DragStat on your computer and follow these instructions:

  • From the Tools menu, select Options. From the pop-up window, select the Integration tab
  • At the top of the Integration tab, you’ll see a section called Time Slip Simulator
  • Copy and paste the activation code into the field provided. Rick from DragStat will provide you with the activation code when you purchase a subscription
  • Click the Change button in the Program Location field and locate the TSS program on your computer. By default, the TSS is located here:
    c:timeslipsim\tss_dgs\tss_dgs.exe
  • With these fields now completed with the correct information, press the OK button

The final step in the activation process is to open the TSS from DragStat, which is detailed in the next section. When you have done this once, you won’t have to open the TSS from DragStat unless you want to import a new run.

Import a run from DragStat into the Time Slip Simulator

Opening the TSS from DragStat (you need to do this at least once to complete the activation process):

  • Open DragStat on your computer
  • View any run from your log book (using the view option or double-clicking on the selected run) and then press the Elimination Results button
  • A new window will pop up. From the new window, click the Time Slip Simulator button
  • DragStat will then open the TSS and copy the selected run into the first-time slip slot in the TSS. Press the Simulate button to view the run
  • Note that by default, when you import a run from DragStat, it will be loaded into slot #1 in the TSS. I’ll show you how to import runs into different slots next

If the TSS is already open on your computer:

  • Open DragStat on your computer
  • View any run from your log book (using the view option or double-clicking on the selected run) and then press the Elimination Results button
  • A new window will pop up. From here, click the Time Slip Simulate button
  • DragStat will then bring the TSS window to the front
  • From the TSS, make sure you are on the Time Slip Screen
  • Use the Prev and Next buttons to choose the slot you want to import the time slip into and press the Import button
  • Your selected run will be imported from DragStat into the TSS, and you can simulate the run
